  1. Hi, I was wondering if creating a dictionary for your language, eventually also co-operating on a learner’s dictionary which a colleague of mine Outi Sané cares for, could be interesting for you. She and her husband Ismaila work mainly with the languages of Senegal though. Our NGO cares for less resourced culture and the Otuho culture with 180.000 speakers approx. is of course part of our interests.
In any case I’d like to keep in touch with your organisation, because creating a network around less resourced cultures will help them to survive. There are problems all of them have in common and often knowing who is able to do what will help to save a lot of time and help all languages and cultures.

    • I am glad to know of your interest. You will definitely have our communities support with such an endeavour.I will take this information around to our language school teachers for their individual thoughts. We have thought of a similar project time and again but have fallen short in a few areas as far as resources is concerned (mainly financial ).We have potential Otuho language teachers who shall be happy to be involved. In light of this , please let me know what you can help us with in this project etc.
      Cheers

    Dear Otuho in Diaspora,

Indeed, it is a pleasure to meet you all in this kind of forum which in my opinion should be on daily basis for us to get inform and disseminate our minds here and invite all otuho in their walk to participate. I urge you guys to improve this blog that invites all otuho to share ideas from all corners of the globe, and from ideas realistic concern issues will arise if we means to upgrade our community like initiation of developmental projects, response to necessary needs, etc….
Daily forum can be developed and posted to each otuhoni subcribed member for discussion to assess our concerns and reactions towards issues affecting our togetherness before situation went out of our hands forcing us to always be supporters of others in our new nation. We otuho are renowned for bravery but we can translate that into thinktank-mindpowers and make a competitive lead in every sector of national building like others. What I mean we lack coming togetherness for common developmental goals that benefit all otuho community and even those in diaspora can play tremendous roles in terms of lobby for scholarship programms in universities abroad, funds for quick impact projects(PHC, primary schools, boreholes, mini-hydro-electric powers, etc…) because we ought to help ourselves before government step-in which always comes after years. We need to prepare our people to realize themselve as stakeholders of the nation and get ready to a competitive environment. Especially this time is going to be critical due to high degree of tribalism, corruption, power hungry, educational traits, etc…

    best regrads

    • Thank you Attari, your comments are invaluable to our development as a people. We are making progress to establishing links with our people in Torit. We would like talk about developmental agenda with the government of Torit and come with ways of supporting our people. Our current goal is to establish a formidable Organisation of like minded Otuhonis in diaspora, and through a similar organisation in South Sudan lay ground for a progressive approach to dealing with current and future challenges.
